SAIMAS' 29th Annual Conference
The Southern Africa Institute of Management Services invites you to participate in the 29th Annual Conference of the Institute on:
SUCCESS THROUGH SYNERGY OF PEOPLE, PROCESS AND TECHNOLOGY
30, 31 October and 1 November 2019
Venue:
Drakensberg Sun Resort, Central Drakensberg, Cathkin Park, Winterton
The word synergy is derived from the Greek word synergos, which means “working together”. In business usage, synergy refers to the ability of people, process and technology to generate greater value working together than they could working apart. Business transformation shapes and aligns the people, process and technology activities of an organisation. Through innovative business strategies, long-term objectives can be defined and achieved, and the organisation can develop the flexibility to respond quickly to mission requirements. Transformation need not be disruptive to ongoing operations; changes must align with the organisation’s mission and goals, allowing the organisation to work more efficiently and with greater purpose.
A business strategy can only be as good as the established business system; or more specifically the combination of the people, the processes and the technology employed by the business.
People are the backbone of any business and the drivers of business processes. The ones most likely to recognise the need for change within processes. Business processes can only be effective if they are properly aligned with the roles and responsibilities of people and the necessary technology. Only then can management make informed business decisions based on reliable information. The integration of technology solutions with the right processes and aligned with the roles and responsibilities of people enable businesses to manage big data and ultimately invent their future. Fit for purpose technological solutions are available for better results.
When there is synergy between these three components, improvement initiatives are more likely to be carried out successfully. This may seem simple when described like this: People + Processes + Technology = Success. However a myriad of variations that can result from the mixture of this triad must considered. Each of the thirds works differently, but is equally important, so you need to have professionals with adequate preparation in each of these areas, to know and fully understand their needs and requirements. Once these three components are properly aligned within an organisation, it really starts to operate systemically, so that everyday work becomes simple, occurs organically and runs naturally.
